Why this site?
I hesitated for a long time to propose this site devoted to teaching and learning in general, but also more particularly mathematics teaching.
As a mathematics teacher, I have always been involved in giving meaning to the content taught, in presenting its historical evolution, and in situating it in the learners' experiences. My pragmatic nature encouraged me to detect and analyze the difficulties encountered by students during mathematics lessons and, above all, to remedy them.
In my role as high school director, I was particularly interested in the way students learn, how the brain functions (neuroeducation), motivation in the school context, students' autonomy in their work, their of increased responsibility, to a school environment conducive to the construction of skills and know-how.
These in-depth studies quickly led me towards the conditions for developing a common approach within a school, a high school, aimed at the well-being, the development and the investment of the main actors, namely the students. , teachers, members of specialized teams (psychologists, social workers and educators) of the administrative and technical teams, without forgetting the essential role that parents play in supporting their child, and this in close consultation with the school.
All these subjects, concerning the development of the personality of young people and consequently the quality of all teaching, are close to my heart!
Finally, I invested myself in transposing all these subjects into institutions, companies and organizations concerned with creating a rewarding work environment for staff and a climate conducive to collaborative decision-making.
I therefore wanted to create this site with the aim of maintaining valuable contacts, making new contacts to continue the exchange and creating new projects around these subjects.
I hope that you will have pleasure in discovering on this site themes which concern you and which offer you, as a teacher, parent, young person, head of a school, an institution or simply an interested reader, some avenues for reflection. .

“But what does “educate” mean?
The answer from the dictionary, Larousse or Robert, is revealing:
this verb comes from the Latin educo, educare.
And, in fact, the Latin-French dictionary consulted tells us that
educo, -are means “to feed, to instruct”.
But above all, it reveals to us another verb
of which the first person of the present tense is identical,
educo, but whose infinitive is educere;
it is no longer a question of feeding, but of e-ducere,
i.e. "drive out of",
and in particular, to drive outside oneself.”
